DR. STEVEN ALBRECHT, PHR, CPP
Dr. Steven Albrecht is President of Baron Center, Inc., a San Diego-based consulting firm nationally recognized for its workplace violence prevention and intervention services and programs. Dr. Albrecht is internationally recognized for his expertise and experience in threat assessment and management, workplace violence, domestic violence in the workplace, stalking, and crisis management. His clients include government, military and educational institutions as well as law firms, medical settings and Fortune 500 companies. He is the author of 11 books, including Ticking Bombs: Defusing Violence in the Workplace, Crisis Management for Corporate Self-Defense and Fear and Violence on the Job: Prevention Solutions for the Dangerous Workplace.
ILAN CASPI
Ilan Caspi is the Executive Vice-President of Global Security Group, Inc., a risk, crisis and counter-terrorism consulting company with offices in New York City, Long Island and Chicago. A former member of the Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet), the Israeli Diplomatic Security Service and El Al Israel Airline Security, he is a counter-terrorism expert with more than a decade of experience in the military, intelligence and security industries. He is an internationally recognized authority in security awareness training, executive and dignitary protection, conducting threat assessments for diverse locations and developing security protocols for international organizations. An expert in radical Islamic terrorist organizations, Mr. Caspi has routinely analyzed intelligence data and formulated response plans to meet identified threats.
Mr. Caspi is the co-author of Executive's Guide to Personal Security (Wiley & Sons, Inc.) He received his Bachelor of Arts degree (Cum Laude) in Political Science and International Affairs from University Ptucha in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Prior to joining to the Israeli intelligence and security community, He served in the Israeli Air Force and participated in many anti-terrorist operations. During his service, he received the President of Israel's "Most Distinguished Soldier" award. He is fluent in Hebrew and English.
DAVID S. KATZ
David S. Katz is the President, CEO of Global Security Group, Inc., an international security consulting company providing integrated risk management solutions, specialized training, protective and investigative services and counter-terror planning. A former senior Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), he is an expert in conducting complex international investigations, high-risk arrests, undercover operations, physical and technical surveillance and intelligence analysis. Katz spent four years as a Primary Firearms Instructor at the FBI/DEA Academy in Quantico, Virginia teaching firearms and tactics to several thousand federal agents, state and local law enforcement officers, SWAT teams, military personnel and foreign counterparts. A recognized authority on law enforcement arrest and defensive tactics, he has trained dozens of police special operations units in the US and abroad including many highly regarded tactical teams including the NYPD Emergency Services Unit and the Marine detail assigned to HMX-1, the President's official helicopter.
In August of 2000, Katz provided tactical firearms training to Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) instructors in Israel and provided firearms and tactical training to the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Agents and U.S. Marines guarding the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem. He has lectured throughout the world and is a frequent guest on nationally broadcast television and radio programs. Katz is the co-author of Executive's Guide to Personal Security (Wiley and Sons, Inc.) and the author of "Personal Safety While Traveling Abroad on Business" (Loss Prevention Magazine, September-October 2003). Mr. Katz holds a degree of Law from Hofstra University Law School.
DR. MANNY TAU, Psy.D.
Dr. Manny Tau is a clinical and forensic psychologist, specializing in threat assessments and active threat management. Dr. Tau has consulted extensively regarding workplace violence and threat management for many government and private organizations throughout the United States, developing of workplace violence prevention programs, and training and implementing Crisis Management Teams. Dr. Tau also works closely with family law attorneys, providing threat assessments, actively managing domestic and stalking threats, and providing expert testimony in the family law and trial courts.
Dr. Tau has received several awards on both state and county levels for his contributions and efforts in the profession of psychology. He holds a Doctorate and M.A. in Psychology, a B.S. in Biological Sciences, a B.A. in Psychology, and is currently completing his Board Certified Diplomat Fellow in Forensic Sciences. Dr. Tau has authored numerous articles on workplace violence and related issues, as well as data-jacking prevention and digital confidentiality. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Psychological Association, Chair of the OCPA Technology Committee, Board of Directors for the California Psychological Association, and Board of Directors for Laura's House Domestic Violence Shelter.
DR. ADAM THERMOS
Dr. Thermos is the President of Boston based Strategic Technology Group. Since 1989, he has served over 20 educational institutions from Maine to Florida with complete campus-wide technology and security designs. A frequent presenter in the national forums of NACCU, NACUBO, NACAS, ACUHO and others, he is currently the designer for many SUNY Schools and the private Ivy League in the North East (Colby, Bowdoin etc.). He was entrusted with technology selection and system implementation management of over $17 million in security-related capital and retrofit projects.
For ten years, Dr. Thermos has served universities as a hands-on managing consultant for security automation; access control and surveillance; door hardware configurations; database integration; computer platforms management; network WAN/LAN design; security protocols and university procedures; security personnel training; liability litigation; and legislative activity information and counsel. He carries a magna cum laude law degree (LL.B.), a cum laude BA, MA in criminology, MA in education, and Ph.D. in criminology and criminal justice, in addition to his military training as NATO Navy cryptographer
